We're very pleased to reveal that on Saturday 20th August 2011 we'll be opening the doors on our new retail shop for the very first time! We welcome you to join us and you'll get to see the full range of 2011/12 Wisper and Raleigh ebikes, together with the new Storck RADDAR from Germany and the Swiss Flyer as it's name suggests from Switzerland.

We'll also have a range of ebikes on display from Powabyke, iZip, Juicy Bike and GoCycle. There will be opportunities to book test rides and ask any burning questions you have about ebikes to the team and also enter a competition to win £100 worth of fab cycle gear! So please do join us, we'd be delighted to see you!

BionX, Wisper & Raleigh Hit The Store

Its been another crazy month in the E-Motion(al) world. First of all the shop is finally approaching its deadline for its opening (more details to follow shortly), we've had some very successful events and also brought on some very exciting new products.

We're very happy to announce that we now stock BionX retro fit kits in store and online. BionX boast the latest technology in electric bikes (no wonder a lot of bicycle manufacturers chose to use BionX) and allows you to convert your current bike into an electric one. We also offer a retro fit service if you don't fancy installing the BionX kit yourself. Feel free to come in store and test out the BionX kit for yourself as soon we're going to have a special bike fitted out with a retro fit kit so you can see the different!

Wisper 2011/12 models have arrived and are in stock. The new range builds on the popular style of last years bikes and boasts ranges of up to 60 miles, new components and two new models; the 705eco & 904 SEL. If you can't wait until we open, drop us a line and we'll arrange a ride for you.

We're also very pleased to announce the we've now taken delivery of Raleigh's new range of electric bikes; this includes the Raleigh Leeds, Dover and Velo Cite (both crossbar & low step versions available).

In the coming weeks we're going to be announcing even more new companies and products! Keep an eye out on our website, blog & social sites as we'll shortly be revealing the launch date for our new store located in Swindon.

English Summer Rain

What a month we've had since our last shop blog post! First off we have now officially moved to 373 Cricklade Road, Swindon after a couple of months running between Swindon and Blunsdon. The shop is coming along now, the floors have been tiled, walls plastered and painted and we're moving on to giving the outside of a building a new coat of paint. We've been using a cherry picker to work on the outside of the building (as and when the rain gives us a chance to do so) and hope to have some branding on the building very soon.

As well as working hard on the new shop we've been out and about at some events such as the Bicycle Carnival in Lydiard Park and Green Transport Event in Bristol. Our bikes went down a storm at the events and we couldn't be happier with the reception we got!

This month you'll be able to visit us at the following events and try out a selection of bikes from Wisper, GoCycle, iZip, Juicy Bikes and more;

Summer Fete at St Phillips Church, Upper Stratton

Swindon Bicycle Carnival

On Saturday 2nd July 2011, we attended Swindon's Bicycle Carnival at Lydiard Park. The Bicycle Carnival is an event arranged by CTC and Swindon Borough Council aimed at getting people out on their bikes, dressing up and having fun! The Swindon Advertiser has labelled the event as 'a huge success'!

Our selection of demo bikes on the day included the GoCycle, Wisper 905se Sport, Raleigh Leeds and more from iZip, Powabyke and Juicy Bikes. We got a great response from everyone on the day especially all our first time riders and one gentleman even said he found the ride 'as addictive as alcohol', we just hope he doesn't mix the two! It was fantastic to see both younger and older people enjoying our electric bikes, especially when we had entire families taking the bikes for a spin!

Thanks to everyone that came out on Saturday (including those who helped out through out the day)!

Another Step Forward

As always its been a busy few weeks at the E-Motion store. The new store is really starting to come along now, we've finally removed the boards from the front of the building and we'll soon be giving the whole building a lick of paint. We're going to announce a launch date in the coming few weeks!

For the first time in years, 373's windows have been exposed! Now for Chris to start painting!

In our home town of Swindon, Domino's Pizza has been using Wisper electric bikes to get their pizza's out to customers within a two mile radius and if you live a little further than two miles away you may just find your pizza being delivered using an electric scooter!

Pushing Forward

Another week has past and we've been extremely busy trying to push everything forward inside our new shop. We've finally finished the wiring so now we're able to start on the cosmetics such as the new ceilings, plastering, tiling the floor and decorating!

We just hope this beautiful sunny weather (we've been missing out on) the UK has been having will show up for us on our launch day in a few weeks time!

E-Motion On The Move

As you may know from looking at our website, we're currently moving! We've bought a turn of the 20th century end terraced shop in Cricklade Road, Swindon. Why? Because the building we were sharing at Blunsdon lease had come up for renewal and we couldn't afford to have it on our own. Plus we found this fab shop in the middle of a built up area close to Gorsehill and Pinehurst.

So now we will have some neighbours to talk to and are keen to serve and become part of the local community. Plus we can walk down the road to a local newsagent for essential supplies when the batteries are getting low! It's a great location and Keith and I along with handy Andy are getting stuck into the renovation! As you can see below we have quite a lot of work on our hands at the moment!

Police Trial Electric Bikes

The City of London Police have begun trialling the Wisper 906XC Tourer electric bike as apart of their anti-crime unit. The UK Police are now joining a handful of countries such as France, Germany and Belgian which are already using e-bikes. Wisper hail the 906XC as 'the last word in electric bike excellence' and we agree with them, its one of our favourite bikes and it boasts a special Carbon Matrix frame and Vogue Air Magnesium suspension forks. The 906XC has proven itself time and time again and the City of London Police only reinforce this message, picking it as their choice of electric bike.

After I had a test ride on several electric Wisper bikes, I was well impressed, I chose and purchased a Wisper 905es sport, from E-MOTION ELECTRIC VEHICLE COMPANY.

The Wisper 905es sport bike is a beauty, posh looking, well made, it's quiet, smooth, very fast, comfortable and a joy to ride. A remarkable machine!

It's great for going uphill with power-assisted throttle, from A to B, no sweat, and a smile on my face as I overtake a cyclist on a normal bike.

Excellent value for money.

I would recommend it to anyone who's thinking of purchasing an electric Wisper bike, go for it!
